How to Engage Students Online, Increase Participation, and Improve Discussions – 8 Weeks, University Credit
This live hands-on webinar series is designed to help teachers create secure, collaborative environments with private online communities. Participants depart with a blended learning model that combines the benefits of in-class instruction with the flexibility of online discussions for any subject or course material. Teachers can use lessons learned in their classrooms the next day.

Participants are strongly encouraged to create a Collaborize Classroom site in advance. Collaborize Classroom will be used to administer the course, but there is no obligation to use it after the course is completed. - Design quality questions that drive interesting and fun in-class interactions
- Incorporate multimedia to bring best resources into your private online discussion platform
- Weave online conversations back into the classroom to increase the value of the work done online

Available through Sonoma State University ($55/unit fee). Upon successful completion, one academic unit will be awarded.
Instructor Bio:
Catlin Tucker teaches English at Sonoma County’s Windsor High School and online writing courses through Axia College. Named Teacher of the Year at Windsor High School, she complements her in-class instruction with an online learning platform called Collaborize Classroom in a unique blended learning curriculum. She is the San Francisco Examiner on Education and is currently writing a book on blended learning. Catlin earned her B.A. from UCLA and a Masters from UC Santa Barbara.
